Pure Greens

June has been a blessing month with some much needed rain preparation as we go into the July summer heat. The rain weather has given our maintenance team the opportunity to perform many cultural practices before the stress of warmer temperatures. The greens are running pure and firm and the course is in immaculate condition.

Big Sky Fairways

In this preparation we solid-tined weaker areas on the fairways, to bring through new growth. All tee decks were needle-tined, which loosens up the soil to allow for better absorption of water and nutrients. These processes do not interrupt with playing surfaces, like a normal aerification process.

big sky bunkers

With extensive amounts of play, the bunkers can use some TLC during mid season. Our maintenance team rototilled all the green-side bunkers. This process mixes up the sand which strengthens the bunker walls and allows for better drainage.
